Caring for just one baboon, Vervet monkey, other primates or wild animals under rehabilitation costs thousands of Rand per year (staff, veterinary care, food, maintenance, volunteer care, petrol, etc.). Any abandoned or injured animal should be reported to local authorities and/or recognized, legitimate rehabilitation specialists, not taken in by a member of the public. Riverside Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is SA Government approved and a member of the South Afican Wildlife Rehabilitation Association (SAWRA). A payment of R300 for animals turned over by members of the public is compulsory. This fee will cover the cost of the animal's TB test and microchip. Thank you for caring and contributing to Riverside's rehabilitation efforts.
